Gospel– April 23rd

  1. Pray for normal living of the gospel that we would proclaim the word, be ready in season and out of  season.
  2. Pray for the invited ones to be gathered to the Gospel Meeting April 23rd.

Time to Gather

We ask that the saints please gather at the gospel location by 4:30pm, unless you plan on coming early for setup at 4:00pm.

Caring for People

  1. We ask that we have a good number of saints at all times at the entrance to welcome new ones coming.
  2. When a new one arrives, please greet them and try to connect them to the ones that invited them, if they are present.
  3. Before the actual gospel time, please care for the invited ones on a friendly human level. There will be a strong time of the gospel at the proper time. Establishing a friendly connection is key to their being able to receive the gospel.
  4. After the actual gospel time, please take time to care for the invite ones by asking them regarding the word heard. Help them to understand the word heard.
  5. We would like to begin the breakdown stage of the meeting 30 minutes after the gospel time has finished. We would like to focus caring for the invited ones during the 30 minutes immediately following the gospel time.

Ukraine

Continue to pray that the Lord’s will be done in the Ukraine. For more details please read the followed letter:

“[W]e have shared much how the Lord has often used wars for His purpose. The scattering of the saints from Jerusalem in 70 that spread His move to Asia and even Europe. How the wars in China lead to Watchman Nee and sent out Brother Lee and a few saints so that the Lord’s recovery had a way to spread to the whole inhabited earth. This has caused many of our refugees to seek the Lord earnestly how to follow Him to where He would send them for His move at this time. Please pray for this tonight and for the Lord to speak clearly to these ones seeking Him. Amen.”

GTCA Migrations

Continue to pray for the Lord to thrust out the workers for His move in the United States through GTCA.

  1. May the Lord release another serving sister for the UC campus team. Also, Columbus and Lexington teams need several more serving ones added.
  2. May the Lord release another 15 community saints to migrate to Cincinnati.
  3. May the Lord also companionize us specifically and locally to afford the Lord the way to bless His move in Cincinnati.

Campus

Pray for those returning from the Campus Spring Break trip. Several students and community saints took a trip to Atlanta, GA to blend with the saints and tour the city. During this time we attended the Lord’s Day meeting, had a love feast with the church, blended with the saints in the homes, and toured the city. For several new ones it was their first time to actually attend a church Lord’s Day table meeting.

Please pray that what the Lord reveals to the young ones of Christ and the church  over the trip would not allow them to come back the same way.

Attending the trip: Isabelle, Prachi, Sarah, Julie, Seyrum, Brianna, Scott, Luke, Peter, Joshua, and Manuel.

Ukraine

Continue to pray that the Lord’s will be done in the Ukraine. For more details please read the followed letter:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we face one of the most historic events in recent human history, we would like to first remind the saints of the apostle Paul’s prayer for us in Ephesians 1 — that the Lord would give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation and that the eyes of our heart would be enlightened to know the hope of our calling and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe (vv. 17-21). We are reminded that this hope and this power exist in another realm, in the divine and mystical realm, in the pneumatic Christ and the consummated Spirit. Surely these days we need to ask the Lord to transfer us out of the physical, natural realm, full of human anxiety, opinion, and thought, and to open our minds to see the real things taking place in the unseen realm. It is crucial, as we approach the time of the Lord’s coming, that the saints realize who the Lord is, where He is, and who we are as a result of our union with Him in the mingled spirit. There is an urgent need for a number of saints to transcend the natural realm and, in full union with the Lord, with His feeling, His thought, and His insight, to “pray in prayer” (James 5:17 and footnote) that the authority of the throne would be exercised in the present conflict. May the Lord help us all.

Our statistics regarding the saints and the churches in Ukraine indicate that there were approximately 50 churches and 1500 saints in Ukraine prior to the pandemic. Based on recent reports, throughout Ukraine the saints are suffering greatly in the present conflict. In the area around Kyiv, where the largest church of about 200 saints is located, some of the saints are remaining in their homes, about 40 saints are in the meeting hall, and another 40 saints are in a village outside of Kyiv. Yesterday quite a few saints were able to travel to cities in west Ukraine, many of which are now also under the duress of war. A good number of the saints have gathered at our conference center in west Ukraine, in a small village that we thought would be spared from fighting; but we have found out that this area also is threatened.

The president of Ukraine has declared a “General Mobilization,” meaning that all men between the ages of 18 and 60 can be conscripted at any moment. Now it is difficult for any of the young brothers to flee; no males are being allowed out of the country. The lines at the Polish border extend for many kilometers. May the Lord give us the prayers we need to pray for the protection of the fleeing saints and their travel.

Many Ukrainian cities where the saints are, are under attack. Under steady bombardment, many of the saints are suffering physically and psychologically. Pray that the Lord will surround the saints with His protection, that the souls and minds of the saints will be covered and guarded from the threats of the evil one, that the Lord will provide them with their daily necessities, and that they will realize and directly experience Christ as the Shepherd and Overseer of their souls.

Those who would like to offer for the needs of the saints in Ukraine can give through LME. Instructions for sending a check through postal mail and for sending gifts by wire transfer can be found at lordsmove.org/offerings.html. Instructions for those who wish to give through ACH transfer or through the PayPal Giving Fund can find instructions at www.lordsmove.org/e-offerings.html (please follow instructions there concerning the way to designate your offering, especially if you give through the PayPal Giving Fund). Those who wish to offer through PayPal or by a debit or credit card can find instructions at www.lordsmove.org/e-offerings-other.html. No matter what way you give, please designate your offering for “Ukraine.”

Church in Sacramento

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

We are greatly shocked and saddened about the tragedy that occurred in our church meeting hall around 5pm on Monday, February 28, 2022. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s statement, a father shot and killed his three children and another adult and then killed himself. We have not yet been notified of further details as of this time. As soon as we learn more facts, we will let you know.

Before the situation becomes clearer, as a church, we feel it important that we not contribute to the cloud of confusion and urge all to wait until the authorities officially release the details surrounding the incident and the identities of the victims. We should avoid all conjecture or speculation and refrain from gossiping or spreading rumors regarding this tragedy.

We urge all the saints to:

  1. Stay calm and remain in your spirit.
  2. Take the Lord as our covering, refuge, and protection, both personally and collectively.
  3. Pray to bring our burdens to the Lord and to cast all anxiety on Him in order to receive His care and comfort. With all the recent environment disturbances (pandemic, war/conflict, and now this tragedy that hits close to home), there is a distinct possibility of the saints experiencing some psychological trauma.
  4. Put on the whole armor of God (Eph. 6:11) to stand and to withstand the stratagems of the devil. We are engaged in intense spiritual warfare with the enemy and we should pray in “all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.” (Eph. 6:18).

Specifically, please encourage all the saints to:

  1. Pray for the dear saints in Sacramento, the churches in Northern California, and the Lord’s recovery.
  2. Pray that the peace of God would guard the hearts and thoughts of all the saints in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:7) and the peace of Christ would arbitrate in the saints’ hearts (Col. 3:15).
  3. Pray that the saints would put on the whole armor of God (Eph. 6:11), and in particular, receive the helmet of salvation (Eph. 6:17) and take up the shield of faith (Eph. 6:16) to quench all the flaming darts from Satan.
  4. Pray that the saints would simply bring all their burdens to the Lord and cast all their anxiety on Him (1 Pet. 5:7).

We will do our best to inform you of further details as law enforcement makes them known to us. Lastly, it is important to allow law enforcement to complete its investigation. In supporting law enforcement’s efforts, please do not respond to the media inquiries or curious parties. It is important to direct all questions and concerns to the elders of the church in Sacramento, Joseph Wang and Hugh Pforsich.

Baptism

Joel P. was baptized in a hotel room on Saturday evening uttering the words, “I pray I never return to the man I once was.” Lord, we pray, “Do it! May our brother have a new and living walk with Christ and the Church.”

Ukraine

March 7, 2022

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The current conflict in Ukraine has created many grievous and painful situations, too numerous to relate. The Ukrainian saints are suffering, many traumatized by the great danger resulting from war. We provide the update below in order that we could all pray and stand together with these members of Christ’s Body who are standing for His kingdom on earth.

There are still ten saints remaining in the city of Mariupol, with whom we have lost contact for the last three days. There is no water, no electricity, and no medicine in this city. The apartment buildings where the saints live are being utterly destroyed.

Tonight as the city of Mykolaiv fell under the rain of rockets, we wept together with the saints on the phone.

Some of our brothers on the front line are able to rest only by laying under the sky on the open ground, since living under any kind of covering invites an attack. The brothers are cold, and their bodies are failing. Our brother Oleg’s kidneys are starting to give him trouble. There are no medicines.

The city of Chernigov, where we have a meeting hall which also serves as a Rhema warehouse for Russian Recovery Versions, is surrounded by opposing forces. Years of ministry translation work into the Ukrainian language is also stored there on computer hard drives.

The capital, Kyiv, is being rocked by huge explosions. There are still about 20 praying saints in the meeting hall.  Many of the other Kyiv saints remain in their apartments in various districts of the city. One family and several saints are in Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv, which has seen intense fighting. They have been living in the basement of a central apartment building with 60 other people, mainly women and children. One couple, Sasha and Anya, both FTTM (Full Time Training in Moscow) graduates, preached the gospel to everyone who is with them in the basement, and everyone called upon the name of the Lord! Anya has her guitar and has been singing with the children.

This past Lord’s Day, March 6, the saints in Ukraine had a corporate Lord’s table meeting by Zoom. It was attended by over 400 saints throughout the country. As we were singing and praising, we could still hear the sound of explosions through the microphones of some of the saints in battle-torn areas. During the sharing time, a number of brothers testified about our oneness and our victory in the Lord. Although some saints are finding it difficult not to direct their blame on persons, the atmosphere was changed when one simple brother, entering into God’s view, expressed a heart to bring the gospel to young soldiers on the street, regardless of which side of the conflict they found themselves on.

May the Lord help and train us all to ascend with Him, to pray from the position of His ascension, having His view and thought related to the current situation (see Lessons on Prayer, p. 197). May the Lord be merciful to us all.

The serving ones in Ukraine

Companions

May the Lord strengthen the churches by organically raising up a strong practice of companions in the Lord.

We should look for three kinds of companions. The first kind should be those who are at our spiritual level. This kind of friend is for mutual help—we can help him, and he can help us. The second kind should be more experienced in the Lord; he can lead us. We need to listen to such a one and receive his help, be restricted by him, and even be subject to him. I believe that Paul was such a companion to Timothy and to Titus; Paul was like their father. For this reason Timothy and Titus had to learn submission, and they had to subject themselves to his authority (1 Tim. 1:1-2; Titus 1:4). We should also look for this kind of companion. The third kind of companion should be one who is younger and weaker. We should render him help and lead him like a big brother leading his younger siblings.
