Children’s Meeting
A person’s character is 30 percent nature and 70 percent habit. We use the word of God to help mold our children’s character in a loving atmosphere. Second Timothy 3:15 reads, “All Scripture is God breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, That the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.”
The Bible also describes our hearts as being writable tablets. Second Corinthians 3:3 reads, “Since you are being manifested that you are a letter of Christ ministered by us, inscribed not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone but in tablets of hearts of flesh.” The whole world is eager to write on our children’s hearts many things. Our hopes are that we properly raise our children up in a way that they’re hearts are not clean slates ready to receive anything this world wants to write on them. But rather that the word of God has been written on their hearts with God’s heart and views.
The example in the bible of this is Timothy. Second Timothy 3:15 says of him, “and that from a babe you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
